Marta Rosler library, computer, audio mixer, record player
Some people always read with music playing, others simply are unable. For the Martha Rosler Library an audio work was generated. It consisted of 'Shht/Peaceful' by Miles Davis played at very slow speed (as an invitation), an harmonic vocal track (as a conversation) and a random mix of an exhaustive personal musical archive (as a contra-library). These recordings were played as a way to activate the library. Like this a different way and rhythm of reading the library is made possible. Maybe as sheet music, maybe as liner notes, maybe as images.
